Minutes January 26, 2025 Business Meeting

Dan A started the meeting with the Serenity Prayer and read Tradition 1: “Our common welfare should come first; personal recovery depends upon A.A. unity.”

Old Business: None

New Business:  Dan A reports he cannot make the monthly GSR meetings. Darlene volunteered to be GSR for our group. 

Fred made the motion to approve Darlene for GSR. It was seconded. Motion passed with all in favor except 1 abstention. 

Fred made a motion to split the responsibility of GSR from the Business Meeting Chair. It was seconded and passed with 12 yes, 1 no, 1 abstention. 

Secretary report: Minutes from the December meeting are posted to our website. A motion was made to accept the minutes. It passed without objection.

Treasurer’s Report:  Linda reported that the current ending balance is 823.23 as of 12/31/24.  

Ashley, prior Treasurer, reports her discovery that monies continued to deposit into old Venmo and Paypal accounts. Ashley will close out old accounts and will work with Linda, current Treasurer, for all monies to transfer to the current EMZoomers account with Guilford Savings Bank.  

Jeff volunteered to investigate the specifics of maintaining a Venmo account and will report back at the next Business meeting.

Ashley will provide Dan A with a list of names who regularly contributed to the original Paypal and Venmo accounts Ashley opened in 2020. Those individuals will be informed of the changes to accounts.

Paul made a motion that Ashley close out the two old accounts and transfer the balance of $956.34 to Linda for the current account. Jeff seconded the motion. It passed unanimously. 

GSR report: Darlene reported on the Jan meeting. There will be a Soberfest June 6-8 at Wilderness Lake.  There will be an organizational meeting on 2/2 at 12 noon. Darlene will provide specifics to Herb.

There is an Area 11 meeting in the rear of the First Baptist Church on Meriden Rd in Southington.  District 19/Area 11 Assembly on 2/21-23. Area 11 Roundup on 3/29. Darlene will provide information to Herb to post on our website.

Lisa made a motion to accept the GSR report. Paul seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.

Books & Coins Report:  Dan A made a motion to pass on the reporting of Coins. The motion was seconded by Paul and passed unanimously.

Grapevine Report: Darlene reports she receives the Grapevine every month which are available to those that would like copies.  Dan A made a motion to pass the Grapevie Report. Paul seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.

Service Chair Report: Ron reports all positions are presently filled with no open vacancies.  Dan A made a motion to pass the Service Chair Report. Lisa seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.

Ron made a motion to close the meeting. John D seconded and the motion passed unanimously.

Meeting adjourned at 9:10 am.
