EMZ Business Meeting Minutes June 23, 2024 

Paul started the meeting with the Serenity Prayer and read Tradition 6: “An AA group ought never endorse, finance, or lend the AA name to any related facility or outside enterprise, lest problems of money, property, and prestige divert us from our primary purpose.”

Old Business 

• The newcomer’s packet: how do we get it out to newcomers?  John P is available to send the packet to any newcomer when requested.   

• The Annual Summer Picnic will be at Jacob’s Beach on 8/18, 10am-4pm. Last year our group donated $300.  John B is the organizer.  A motion was made to donate up to $300 for the picnic provided we have the funds. The motion was seconded and passed unanimously.
• There will be a sign-up for the picnic on our website.

New Business: None 

Secretary report: Paul reports the minutes for the May meeting (held June 2) have been posted on our website. The report was accepted without objection.

Treasurer’s report:  no report provided

GSR report: Paul reported on the last District 19 meeting. The new DCM will be Jeff K.

Area 11 is now going to run the AA answering service for all 35 districts in the area.

The report was accepted without objection.

Books & Coins Report:  John sent out one Big Book and a newcomer’s brochure.

Grapevine Report:  Darlene reports no new updates.

Service Chair Report: no report
