EMZ Business Meeting Minutes April 27, 2025

Dan A started the meeting with the Serenity Prayer.

Old Business 

Topic: Saturday’s Speaker meeting and the reported challenge in finding speakers. Discussion about possibly reducing the number of speaker meetings each month was had. It was a robust discussion and the overriding sentiment was the Speaker meeting is much valued and should not be changed. No motions were made.

Treasurer’s Report 

Balance posted in the meeting. As of 3/31, the beginning balance was $1,778.17 with $1,400 in expenses. Income was $205.40. Ending balance minus our prudent reserve of $300 was $583.57.

Expenses breakdown: $150 for the Gratitude Breakfast; $360 to the GSO; $480 to Area 11; $360 to District 19.  

There is a $50 outstanding check never cashed. 

Secretary’s Report:

Deb B indicated the minutes from the previous business meeting have been posted on the web site. She also thanked Steve D for his help in covering minutes for meetings when Deb has had to leave early.

GSR Report:

Darlene was not able to attend the last meeting but she obtained the minutes and reports that the Sober Fest is scheduled for June 6-8th.

Books and Coins:

John P reports “slow going”.

Grapevine Report:

Darlene has a year’s worth of Grapevines available to anyone who requests them.

Service Chair Report:

Ron reports “steady as she goes”.  No vacancies or issues.

A motion was made by John D to approve all above Committee reports. Seconded by Lisa and passed unanimously.

New Business:

Dan would like to discuss the $50 uncashed check that was made to an unidentified person or party.  Dan requests a transparent accounting of this transaction for next month’s meeting.
