EMZ Business Meeting Minutes July 21, 2024

Paul started the meeting with the Serenity Prayer and read Tradition 7: “Every AA group
ought to be fully self-supporting, declining outside contributions.”
Old Business: None
New Business:
● The Annual Summer Picnic will be at Jacob’s Beach on 8/18, 10am-4pm. Last
month a motion was made to donate up to $300 for the picnic provided we have
the funds. The motion passed unanimously. Today Linda, the Treasurer, reports
our current available balance is $551. All agreed to honor last month’s decision
to contribute $300 to the picnic.
● AA contributions. Fred made a motion that the quarterly distribution to AA be
changed to the following percentages: Area: 40%, GSO: 30%, District 30%.
This proposed change is due to the recent change that the Area is now
managing the AA answering service instead of the Districts. The motion was
seconded and passed unanimously.
Treasurer’s Report: Linda will make the donation to the picnic and the quarterly AA
contributions this month.
Secretary report: Deb reports the minutes for the June meeting were recently posted
on our website. The report was accepted without objection.
GSR report: No new updates per Fred who attended this month’s meeting.
Books & Coins Report: No report
Grapevine Report: No report
Service Chair Report: Ron not present but there may be a need for volunteers to open
the meetings.
