Early Morning Zoomer’s Business Meeting October 4, 2026
Dan A. called the meeting to order at 8:30
Molly led us in the Serenity Prayer
Secretaries report: Lisa U. shared the minutes had been posted on the website and asked for any questions or clarifications. The treasurers report was posted in error as March report instead of September‘s. Dan A. noted Septembers treasurers report would be posted on the website and made a motion to accept the secretaries report, Molly seconded, it passed unanimously
Website report: Herb shared. He is open to suggestions as always. He also requested the treasurers report be attached to the minutes. Terri suggested we use Dropbox to keep documents sorted. Herb noted the minutes being archived on the website can become cumbersome. Mary volunteered to compile a history of the motions made at the business meetings over the course of EMZoomer‘s existence. Herb and Mary will share ideas next month on how to best store minutes and important information that comes out of the business meetings. Mary also noted that the text for the alternate reading that’s read on Monday, Thursdays, and Saturdays, has a lighter text and asked if that could be darkened. Herb will look into that.
Books and coins: Mary sent out a big book and pamphlets to a newcomer.
Grapevine report: Chelsea is our new Grapevine rep, and is working with Darlene to get herself trained, and make the address change with the Grapevine office so issues will be sent to her going forward. Deb B. as treasurer has offered to help set up any gift subscriptions that we give out to members celebrating their one year anniversary. There was discussion about how to change an address as Grapevine rep. Michael A. noted the posting in the chat needs to be changed as well and is looking for Chelsea‘s email address. Terri commented when she was books and coins rep, she bought what she needed when she needed it, and was reimbursed after. Dan A. noted Chelsea‘s good announcements in the morning, reminding people of the one year Grapevine gift to one year anniversaries.
GSR report: Darlene had nothing to report. Darlene was curious when the end of her term as GSR is. Michael A said he would let her know.
Service chair report: Michael A. shared we have two new chairs and a new Grapevine rep. Dan A. mentioned his tenure as the business chair would be up at the end of the year.
Treasurers report: Deb B. posted and presented the account activity and noted we are low on funds. Deb B. reminded us of the Alkathon donations that will be asked for in the next couple months. She asked about lowering the prudent reserve, or letting the group know we’re low on funds. Terri asked about monthly expenses, Deb B. reviewed what our actual expenses are.
Dan A. made a motion to approve these reports, Herb second, the motion passed unanimously.
Old business: No old business
New business: Deb B. is concerned about low balance (actually negative if not for prudent reserve). Lisa U. offered to make a few announcements about upcoming Alkathons that the early morning zoomer‘s routinely donates to and ask for a couple extra bucks if you have it.
Lisa U. made a motion to adjourn the Meeting Herb seconded, all were in favor.
In loving service,
Lisa U.
