Early morning Zoomer’s November Business Meeting, November 1 2026
Dan A. began the meeting and led us with the serenity prayer.
Secretaries report: Lisa U. reported the minutes from October‘s meeting have been posted on the website and asked for any questions or comments. Molly mentioned she has been putting the links to the business minutes in the morning chat. Dan A. made a motion to accept the secretaries report Chelsea seconded, and it passed unanimously.
Website report: the website report is deferred till next month when Herb is present.
Books and coins: Mary shared she sent out two coins and notebooks this past month. Dan A. made a motion to accept the books and coins Chelsea second, and it passed unanimously.
Grapevine report: Chelsea has sent recent past issues of the Grapevine to the Sober House in New Haven where our member Michele is connected. It will take a number of weeks for Chelsea to receive the grapevine issues to her address. She will pass upcoming issues to group members or send to the Sober House. Dan A. made a motion to accept the grapevine report Molly seconded, and it passed unanimously.
GSR report: Darlene wanted feedback from the group about the cost for food being spent at the GSR meetings. A discussion ensued with questions. The area is spending $150. on food per month. This provides dinner for the 10 to 15 people who come. Many come from work and the meetings can run anywhere from 6:30 PM to 8:30 or 9 PM. Darlene thinks this is an extravagance. Molly appreciated Darlene for bringing the issue to us and shared that personally, she feels Darlene can decide what’s right being our GSR. Deb B. thought it would be difficult to poll the larger group for their opinion wondering how to bring to the regular meeting. She wondered how much food and was concerned if there was any waste. Darlene mentioned there were a couple younger members at the GSR meeting who had the concern thinking this was too much money to spend on food. Dan A. shared his opinion and deferred to the GSR to decide. Lisa U. commented it was a real opportunity for fellowship when the district was larger and is in agreement that Darlene as GSR can make her opinion representative of the group. Sal raised the question if people were making money on this. Darlene said that is not the case. The group appreciated Darlene for raising the issue and agrees that she can share her opinion for us. Dan A. made a motion to approve the GSR report, Molly seconded, and it past unanimously
Service chair report: Dan A. reporting for Michael A., we have three new chair, people and one new Grapevine rep this past month. Dan A. made a motion to accept the service chair report Lisa U. seconded it past unanimously.
Treasurers report: Deb B. shared her treasurers report verbally as screen share wasn’t working at the time of the meeting. While we were low on funds last month with a couple of announcements to the group letting them know—funds have been replenished. Deb commented how generous the group was. We discussed making donations to the three holiday Alkathons coming up— Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s. Last year we sent $50 to each Molly made a motion we raise that to $75. Deb B seconded it, all were in favor. Dan A made a motion to accept the treasurers report. Molly B seconded, all were in favor. Deb will find out where to send the check for Thanksgiving.
Old business: Dan A appreciated Lisa you for her announcements in the morning meetings about our low funds.
New business: no new business
