Meets Daily at 7:30am

Early Morning Zoomer‘s Business Meeting June 7, 2026

Dan A. Called the meeting to order at 8:40 AM. (10 minutes after the regular meeting to provide time to give phone numbers to a newcomer).

Ron P. let us in the serenity prayer

Treasurers report: Deb B. posted and reviewed with the group our current numbers and account activity. She picked up an error in the calculation and made corrections during the meeting.

Secretaries report: Lisa U. reported the May minutes have been posted for a short time on the website and asked for any comments or questions.

Website report: Herb shared the website is up and running raised the idea that perhaps we could create a compilation of all the approved motions since the start of early morning zoomer’s, and then archive the minutes. Michael A. suggested perhaps the new assistant GSR might have that as part of their job.

Service chair report: Michael A. reports all service positions are filled, except for this potential assistant GSR.

Books and coins: Mary reports all going well. She sent out two coins this past month.

Grapevine report: Darlene received a request from a Barbara G. For some issues or perhaps a subscription. She has sent three emails back, but hasn’t heard more and will update us next month.

Dan asked for a motion to approve the committee reports Mary made a motion Kathleen seconded. They were approved unanimously discussion ensued about the alternate GSR, Lisa U. mentioned we haven’t had our GSR report

GSR report: Darlene shared there were some summer events happening. Darlene also shared most group do not have an alternate GSR.

Mary made a motion to accept the GSR report Michael A seconded. The GSR report passes unanimously

Old business: Discussion about alternate GSR— Dan A. shared he has made announcements offering the service position and there have been no takers. Molly asked are the GSR meetings on Zoom or in person. Darlene shared they are the last Tuesday of the month in person in Branford at the red door church. Herb mentioned district 19 has its own website and posts the GSR minutes monthly. Mary offered to compile the list of past approved motions since the beginning of Early Morning Zoomer group. Michael A. raised a concern about GSR making report to the group directly. Mary often announces upcoming events instead of Darlene. Darlene said she’s happy to make announcements when she’s there in the morning, but Mary often does because she’s a host or co-host and can post them in the chat.

Molly made a motion that Mary compile the motions that the group has passed since its inception. Michael A. seconded the motion passes unanimously.

Kathleen brought up the topic how to keep minutes organized on the website. Dan A. suggested keeping 12 months after the compilation of motions is created, Michael A. wants to save more than a year. John D. asks if we can archive business meeting notes. Herb explained there’s a drop-down menu and they can all be archived without deleting the minutes. Mary and Herb agreed to work on compiling the motions and how to store the archived minutes for discussion next month.

Michael A. returns to the topic of alternate GSR Dan A. Volunteered to be the alternate GSR but can’t commit every month. Herb reminded us of the responsibilities of the GSR to take the opinions of the group to the district as the voice of the group and not a superfluous position. Kathleen inquired is it OK for the GSR to send a sub. Darlene responded yes, anyone can sub for a GSR and anyone can go to the meetings. Molly shared her experience of being a GSR. It was suggested by her sponsor to become a GSR and that’s where she learned AA operates from the bottom up rather than the top down and reminded us to encourage sponsee’s for that opportunity. Dan A. will continue to announce the position of the alternate GSR

New Business: Brian L asked if there was a date for the picnic yet. Herb commented the picnic date comes from the EMR group. He also mentioned there is a picnic next Sunday, June 14 at Hammonasset. Jeff H. shared there is no news on the group‘s picnic yet, but he will ask on Tuesday when he’s there in person.

John D. made a motion to adjourn the Meeting. Herb seconded the motion past unanimously. Meeting adjourned 9:20

In loving service,

Lisa U.
